Who I Am

WHO I AM

An anti-bias educator since 2015, I have facilitated conversations around diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging with thousands of participants, including students, K-12 teachers, administrators and faculty in colleges and universities, law enforcement professionals, private businesses, and non-profits.

While our biases can manifest differently depending on the setting, the fact that we all have and are impacted by them is universal.

Previous Programs Include:

The Anti-Defamation League, Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Police Department, Metropolitan Police Department (Washington, DC), Equitrust Life Insurance, University of Illinois – Urbana/Champaign, University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse, University of Oklahoma, Truman National Security Project, Chicago Market - A Community Co-op, and many more.

What I Do

WHAT I DO

Utilizing more than a decade of teaching and curriculum development experience within Chicago Public Schools and City Colleges of Chicago, I work with organizations large and small to review current policies and practices to identify areas for growth, develop goals and training initiatives, and connect to additional resources.

  • Topics include: diversity, equity & inclusion; belonging, dignity & justice; anti-bias/anti-racism; unconscious bias in the workplace; microaggressions; and LGBTQ+ inclusion.

  • Services include: interactive professional developments (virtual or in-person), webinars, curriculum design, keynote speaking, coaching, and consulting.

WHAT I BELIEVE

My approach to this work focuses on understanding the science behind how our brains work - both generally as humans and as individuals based on our lived experience - through a combination of education, discussion, and reflection to explore how our biases have been influenced by our past, how they impact our present, and how learning to manage them can help shape our future.

I also believe strongly in meeting people where they are. Whether you are just beginning to explore these concepts, have been at this for a while and want to take it deeper, or are somewhere in between, I work closely with clients to tailor programs that meet their specific needs.
